The Return Address

Some mail is undeliverable because the address is wrong. Some because the recipient is dead. And some keeps moving because something refuses to let the route end.

Rachel Talley has spent fourteen years working overnight postal recovery, where one bad assumption can become an official fact before anybody realizes it was a guess.

Then a letter canceled in 1993 arrives at Crossfield with no valid origin, no living recipient, and a delivery route to an address that no longer exists.

The system delivers it anyway.

Soon more impossible pieces begin surfacing. Dead addresses become active. Records contradict physical reality. A forgotten route called Grayline appears beneath the anomalies, leading toward a service road no current map recognizes.

Then Rachel finds a letter from her dead mother with Rachel's own RETURN TO SENDER written across the front.

According to Grayline, the return can still be completed.

To stop it, Rachel will have to decide what counts as proof when memory itself can change, what grief is allowed to keep, and whether some messages are better left unopened.

The Return Address is the seventh novel in The Hollow Archive, Michael Novian's connected psychological supernatural horror series about grief, memory, altered records, impossible places, and ordinary systems that refuse to stay ordinary.

That gives the hook, Rachel, the mail system, Grayline, and the personal stakes without spoiling Judith appearing, Caroline's outcome, or the ending.
