Thirtysomething

Greta is a washed-up party girl, forced to move back to her native Miami for the summer after running out of money. Recovering from surgery, childhood friend and recent divorcee Nate also finds himself back on Miami's overheated shores against his will.

As one long, hot day melts into another, the pair come up with a scheme to fill the time - as a joke they'll recreate a coming-of-age movie, playing off every tired convention the genre has to offer. Get stoned in a 7-11 parking lot, but in your 30s? Why not. Go on a multi-day quest as a rite of passage? Sure. Especially if it's to find an obscure favourite ice cream flavour.

But soon real life starts to intrude, and the supposedly light-hearted game becomes all-too-real, surfacing their deepest shames and their impossible, rapidly growing attachment to each other.

Will they each go back to the adult lives they've resigned themselves to? Or is it really never too late to come of age?
