To Mend a Halfling's Soul

Living on the run had been hard for Pagan. She felt as if everyone she had ever loved had abandoned her and because of it she hardened her heart to love. Having a man in her life wasn't an option. She was a Halfling, half Earthling, half Aradian, and she had inherited strong mental abilities from her mother's Aradian side. Unfortunately for her, those mental abilities made her a prime target and a warlord decided he was her other half, her soul mate, and he had the crazy notion that he could take her mental abilities away from her and use them to rule his world. He hunted her like a wild animal and she ended up severely wounded. Her only hope to escape his grasp was to cross the veil to her mother's world and hope he never found her.

She made her way to Aradia with the help of a dear friend and she gave into the icy fingers of death, as she couldn't hold on any longer. She thought she had died, but soon realized she was slowly healing. A strong masculine energy coursed through her body and she tried to fight it, but his soothing voice took control of her senses and she found herself heeding his call for her to stay with him and not die. He was a stranger to her, and as she healed, she began to struggle with her emotions as she came to realize she was falling in love with him. The one thing she didn't want to do is what her heart was telling her to do.

Tristan took the injured woman from the strange man that held her so tightly. He had brought her to safety as his last act, and he fell dead at Tristan's feet. She was covered in blood and dying and he made the quick decision to save her life and filled her with his life force in order to do so. As she healed, a bond formed between their minds and he was able to sense her emotions as if they were his own. She was one of a kind, a child born from soul mates, who weren't supposed to be together, but defied the laws of their gods and fell in love to conceive her. He felt compelled to protect her and over time he fell in love with her.

But could he get her to accept the love in her heart she had for him instead of running from him like she so desperately wanted to do? She was to be his wife by Zeus' decree and because she had no choice in the matter, she fought him every step of the way. But he never once gave up on her, because he knew in his heart she was created by his god specifically for him and he would do anything to keep her by his side.
