[U] Allen v. University of Washington School of Medicine

Dr. Margaret Allen and the University of Washington School of Medicine entered into mediation of her discrimination claims against the University, resulting in a memorandum of agreement in which the parties agreed to submit unresolved issues to the mediator for binding arbitration. The parties did so, but Dr. Allen contends the trial court erred in confirming the arbitration decision because the arbitrator exceeded his authority and the resulting agreement violates public policy. We disagree and affirm.
