THE TRUE CRIME BOOK OF THE YEAR AND 18-WEEK SUNDAY TIMES TOP 10 BESTSELLER

'One of the most fascinating books I have read in a long time. Engrossing, a haunting page-turner. A book I could not put down' The Times, BOOKS OF THE YEAR
__________

Meet the forensic pathologist, Dr Richard Shepherd.

He solves the mysteries of unexplained or sudden death.

He has performed over 23,000 autopsies, including some of the most high-profile cases of recent times; the Hungerford Massacre, the Princess Diana inquiry, and 9/11.

He has faced serial killers, natural disaster, 'perfect murders' and freak accidents.

His evidence has put killers behind bars, freed the innocent, and turned open-and-shut cases on their heads.

Yet all this has come at a huge personal cost.

Unnatural Causes tells the story of not only the cases and bodies that have haunted him the most, but also how to live a life steeped in death.

Thoughtful, revealing, chilling and always unputdownable, if you liked All That Remains, War Doctor and This is Going to Hurt you'll love this.

Unnatural Causes

A truly fascinating book written by a compassionate, dedicated Doctor which gives readers like me, a person not accustomed to Death and the processes it brings along a better understanding of it. Death is nothing to spend time worrying about - it’s the lack of humanity some of us are capable of that needs our attention. Especially violence behind closed doors which I believe is vital to acknowledge has been and is frequently part of growing up for to many children.

In my opinion, Mr Shepherds revealing of the changing cultures in his area of expertise through 4decades and how privatization threatens the truth if someone in the process keeps an eye more on consultation fee rate and budgets instead of providing best healthcare possible also after death that stands out as a red alert authorities should listen to.

The different cases described and with that the anatomy and processes on the table has made it even more satisfying to be a donor if they can use my corpse when I die than when I signed up without really knowing what it meant some years ago.

Highly recommended! From Norway 🇳🇴
