Publisher Description

ON APRIL 16, 2009, THE WASHINGTON STATE SENATE PASSED EDUCATION REFORM LEGISLATION THAT PROVIDED FOR TEACHER-LIBRARIANS TO BE WRITTEN INTO THE LANGUAGE OF BASIC EDUCATION (ESSB 2261). Included in this bill was the language Washington Library Media Association (WLMA) has been working on for so long. The legislation included a prototype school model in statute so library programs would become part or the basic education allocation For schools. Original language that would have allowed a teacher-librarian OR a classified employee librarian was removed.
