Whether you’ve read Tim Weaver’s David Raker books before, or you’re picking up I Am Missing as a riveting standalone, the eighth in the series is full of fresh surprises. After waking up battered, bruised and with no memory of who he is, Richard Kite hires Raker to find out what happened to him. The intriguing investigation quickly blows up, leading Raker towards murder and a shady cover-up. Two narrators bring the pair of protagonists to life in this gripping audiobook, with a third voice depicting—in fantastic detail—the remote Empress Islands, where much of the story takes place.

Very Good Storyline...
The story was long winded in places due to explanations of obvious details within the characters’ voices or actions. The use of back-story may have been more engaging, to ‘show’ the reader why a character says or does things. This would allow readers to imagine and sense subtleties, rather than being ‘told’ why, which felt more one dimensional and most definitely from the writer’s perspective.
A good book though with strong atmosphere imagery of locations and some clever twists.
