A Portrait of Old Georgetown

Ecker tries not so much to write a history of Georgetown in this book, but rather to paint a portrait of the beloved place of her upbringing. A portrait of its physical features, yes, but most importantly to Ecker is the desire to paint a portrait of the people who made up the town, who combine to form the heart of the town itself. 


Their internal struggles, their moments of joy and being uplifted, their work, and how they played, and all of the aspects possible to capture with ink and paper. Ecker’s love-project, as a result, makes Old Georgetown, and its people, immortal through beautiful language and imagery.
