An Angel Called Scruffy

Hi. My name is Rissa and I’m an angel.


I’ll never forget my first trip to Earth or the family I was sent to help. Melanie was fourteen at the time and her brother, Jacob, seven. They lived with their Mom, who had just gone through a painful divorce. They were a mess when I got there. Divorce does that to people. That’s why the Master sent me.


This was my first assignment and I expected it to be an adventure, but it turned out to be so much more. I learned about heartache and healing, about faith and forgiveness, and about the kind of love that lays down its life for a friend. 


Denise Irvine is a freelance writer. Her inspirational articles have appeared in many Christian magazines and newsletters over the past 30 years. She writes to give God glory and to draw others to Jesus Christ. 


Denise resides in a small town in northern Michigan with her husband, Alan. Between them they have six children, ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
