Lucinda Riley’s The Seven Sisters series achieves a satisfying sense of closure with this epic final instalment, penned by the late author and her son, Harry Whittaker. Atlas: The Story of Pa Salt finally shines a spotlight on the titular patriarch, who only appeared on the periphery of previous books. Like other entries in the series, this combines elements of adventure and subtle fairy-tale qualities with a strong focus on family and legacy. Pa Salt’s storied life takes him to Ireland, France, Siberia, England and beyond—including time at sea—but the book balances its more fanciful turns with a warm, level-headed tone. Readers won’t want to farewell this character or series, but it’s heartening to know that the other novels are there for the re-reading.

A perfect ending
To have Book 8 of the Sisters answer all the questions by telling Pa Salt’s story was perfect. Each book is a standalone read but makes you want to read the other books. Reading Atlas brings the series to a satisfying completion. Loved it. Thank you.
