Ayesha, the Return of She

H. Rider Haggard was an English novelist and Victorian writer of adventure novels, set in exotic African locations. He initiated many of the now common themes of lost civilization and lost continent, including the ancient magic and curses, secret chambers and mysticism. 


 “Ayesha, the Return of She” was published in 1905 and represents a sequel of the well known novel, ‘She’. The gothic-fantasy novel continues the themes of lost civilization and incredible events. The action revolves around Ayesha - a mysterious white queen of a primitive race of natives, who was born over 2,000 years ago and reigns as the almighty "She", or "She-who-must-be-obeyed".
