APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
We were completely taken in by this world-class crime novel by Australian Alan Carter, winner of the Ned Kelly Award for his debut, Prime Cut. When Detective Sergeant Philip “Cato” Kwong’s well-to-do university friend and family are butchered in their McMansion, the thoughtful policeman gets embroiled in a tricky murder investigation. Bad Seed—the third Cato Kwong novel—is a great introduction to Carter’s talent. It’s a brilliant thriller with crackling dialogue, cunning plot twists and rich characters.
