She challenges every instinct that tells him protection means taking control. He learns to ask before touching, listen when she pushes back, and wait when every part of him wants to claim more. But one withheld truth can undo far more than desire can repair.

Someone wants Danny’s evidence buried. Someone believes Cassidy is the easiest way to get it. And the closer danger comes, the harder it becomes for Grimm to protect her without becoming another man who decides what she should be allowed to choose.
