Tad was orphaned at 4,at 7 he fell in love with Barby Wiez. Tad was a man at twelve, doing a man's job; and at 13 he killed two men for trying to rape Barby, Tad nearly died, but all that mattered was Barby to Tad, not even death scares Tad Malley.

Geb Hart the biggest kid in school is Tad's friend after Tad beats the hell out of him for messing with Barby; and then he takes up with Jami and from there the four musketteers tread on togther thru the good times and the bad.
