CRESCENDO

The songs are going home — and what waits for them has been listening since the dawn of things. The Mnemn turned aside at Saturn, but they carry everything with them: the kept songs of Earth, Luna, and the Belt, bending sunward toward the Long Listening — the vast attention that stills whatever it notices, the holder of one deep, patient note that has never once been answered. Jonah, Sael, Doss, and the remnant fleet follow the wake inward with a single impossible hope: that the oldest question in the universe — is anyone there? — might finally receive an answer. But you cannot seize the attention of the Long Listening. You can only hold the shape open — and let the vastness come. What follows is not a battle. It is a duet: the Naming, the Giving, the Releasing, and the ancient Nyxari word for the held breath before dawn — waits-for-morning — sung to a voice that has waited since before worlds had names for mornings. CRESCENDO is the third and final book of the Saturn Cycle — the story of the answer: being heard, at last, all the way down. By Kimani Upshur, M.Ed. Clean fiction: no cussing, no blatant immorality. Written from a Christian worldview — Scripture first.
