Discreet Conversations

Discreet Conversations is book #5 in the Twinkle Texas Cozy Mystery Series.  The new boarding house is hopping with an open house party after a month of proprietor Bertha Potts, and tenants Brian McKinley, and Jimmy Katz settling in. Jimmy's Aunt Betty, the matriarch of Twinkle and Starlight County, along with Toombs, her security person, and Jenkins, the butler, bring goodies.The TIN staff are all present. Sportswriter Deuce Bainbridge ducked alongside the refrigerator when he spots one of his exes who didn't go away quietly. 

Chief and Mrs. Price, Ramirez, Stephanie, and Butch were all present and chatting with Meaty, Twinkle's own government security contractor. Mrs. Potts' neighbors are in full party mode. Vince chats with Katrina Ewaldone, who had recently moved to the neighborhood. Those who overheard the conversation of the mean-spirited woman did not lurk. Vince's pleading eyes caught 

Jimmy and Chief Price' attention. They rescued their friend. Katrina wandered around from group to group. No one wanted to engage with her, and they would soon find out why. Maddy fully recovered from her injuries from the accident and can finally traverse the stairs slowly. She and her parrot friend, Guppy, watch the party from upstairs so they wouldn't accidentally get trampled.

When a body shows up on the doorstep of the police department, Butch thinks it's a vagrant passed out. The front desk greeter freaked out when he realized he had stepped over a dead person. 

Once again, Maddy and Guppy put their detective caps on to find the murderer.
