Endangered NZ Wildlife

Welcome to our class project, “Endangered New Zealand Wildlife”. Each student was assigned an animal at the outset of our topic study, and they had to research and present what they had learned. We decided that it would be great to collate all that learning into one book.


Each bird, mammal, reptile, amphibian sits somewhere on the scale from being at risk to being threatened. One bird in the study was down to a single breeding pair before a programme was put in place to restore numbers!


As you read about the animals in this book, and as you learn something new about the unique animals which are at risk in our beautiful country, we hope that you will gain a new appreciation for them.
