Establishing Detached Youth Work

A continuation of the series, Establishing Detached Youth Work updates the Gear Stick Model by introducing a Fifth Gear. This is a specialist intervention for youth workers and other professionals working with high risk young people caught up in Emerging Gang Culture. It explores the context of gangs and suggests a number of models which help to explore their development and operations. With a fuller understanding practitioners are best placed to make effective and strategic interventions in the lives of high risk young people.
