Ecclesiastes 7:2-4
It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart. Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better. The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.
I have set forth to accomplish this endeavor to give Glory to God, our Lord and Saviour Jesus the Christ. We truly serve a God of Redemption. Although it centers on the grief journey I have traveled after the loss of my Beloved son, it also encompasses the Grief I have had to embrace resulting from much abuse, rapes, barrenness, pregnancy losses, etc. I have lived long enough to now know that when ‘we are faith-less, God remains faith-full, because He cannot deny Himself’ (2 Tim. 2:13). Jesus is our Blessed Hope. Receiving Gifts from the Ashes is a promise that our Redemptive and Faithful God does keep. He is a God of integrity. It is my Hope that by sharing my Testimony of God’s humbling Redemption, along with what He has revealed to me along the way, you will also be enabled to embrace that Joy that is set before you which Jesus Himself embraced, giving Him the strength to endure the Cross He bore for us (Heb. 12:2). It is my prayer that you, the reader, will find some gems within this work that was set before me. May God be All in All.
Isaiah 61:2b-3 To comfort all that mourn; To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He might be glorified.
