This is a true American tale, the story of the Hamady Clan of Flint, Michigan, whose patriarch came to America from Lebanon in 1908 and built a family business that grew to over $100,000,000 in sales. Over three generations, this large Druze family--54 members at its peak in 1945--lived with its own code of ethics, its deep cultural divides, its dark secret.
It is also the story of a prophecy made by that patriarch many years ago: "First generation founds the business, second generation builds the business, third generation brings it down." And so it was. As told by the patriarch's grandson.
