Kings County District Attorney Frank Smithwick Hogan indicted Davidoff and several associates in an extortion scheme that began in 1951. He was perhaps most closely associated with labor racketeer and Mafia enforcer Giovanni Ignazio John Dioguardi aka Johnny Dio. As late as December 1970 Davidoff nixed the entrance of a Canadian air maintenance company at JFK Airport in New York City.
