Publisher Description
"Turning the envelope over, his hand trembling, Harry saw a purple wax seal bearing a coat of arms; a lion, an eagle, a badger and a snake surrounding a large letter 'H'."
Harry Potter has never even heard of Hogwarts when the letters start dropping on the doormat at number four, Privet Drive. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle. Then, on Harry's eleventh birthday, a great beetle-eyed giant of a man called Rubeus Hagrid bursts in with some astonishing news: Harry Potter is a wizard, and he has a place at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. An incredible adventure is about to begin!
Having become classics of our time, the Harry Potter eBooks never fail to bring comfort and escapism. With their message of hope, belonging and the enduring power of truth and love, the story of the Boy Who Lived continues to delight generations of new readers.

Book 23 (2025)
Let’s start with a disclaimer. Harry Potter was released in 1997, when J.K. Rowling was not a household name. It was then and the years after I came to know this world. So Harry Potter is not a “new” book I’ve decided to pick up and read, instead it is one of those childhood memories that you cherish because of the time you experienced it and wish to go back, not of the times now.
So the lens I’ve come with when reading this book is one before J.K. Rowlings controversal comments.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, a groundbreaking novel that absolutely shook the world by storm. Followed up with six more novels, films, games, assortment of merchandise and spinoffs - Harry Potter from my opinion - has stood the test of time.
The writing is not one of the most descriptive books, and that works in its favour. It gives enough to the reader in order to paint the story.
Harry, Ron and Hermione are as charming as ever, the banter makes you laugh, side characters make you cheer or frown, and it’s a perfect setting for the age group it was marketed for and then some.
Harry and his friends have a special place in my heart, and they continue to give me the joy I first encountered all those years ago.
An easy 5 ✨ read. 🫑
