History Society Magazine: Scandal Special
Publisher Description
This fourth edition of the St. Olave’s History Society Magazine is the second to be completed in 2012, and like the previous issue has been produced under the direction of Dr Wallace with layout and design by Luke Watkins.
Scandal, which is the theme of this issue, is something with which we are all familiar. The word implies behaviour deemed morally unacceptable from a person or an institution of whom we would expect better; the twenty-first century has already provided countless examples. Perhaps unsurprisingly, eight of the nine articles published in this magazine, which are arranged in chronological order, are about scandals which took place in the past hundred years, with the most recent of these – the cover-up following the 1989 Hillsborough disaster – not being fully revealed until this year.
