In the Year 2600

Global warming-- the nightmare that defines the 21st century. In six hundred years, the overwhelming catastrophe that is soon to leave the planet devastated is only a mystic, dreamlike, mournful thing of the past, but the lingering effects remain. In the last barely habitable place on Earth, wars have been fought and an Empire has risen which is soon to repeat the deadly mistakes of the postmodern era in the name of greed and conformity. In this undead, jaded world, there are a few people who are so passionate about finding individuality, meaning, and an escape from isolation and oppression that they will do anything necessary to change life, even if it means self-destruction, murder, or irreversible loss. Although it is a story of a generation yet unborn, "In the Year 2600" could have been written in any time period. Swords face laser guns, a princess sleeps for three centuries, and the story that is as old as humanity is told in a metafictional way never before told.
