Lydia Scott is a driven and idealistic union officer, committed to fighting for the rights of workers across the Pacific Northwest.

When she's sent to Swift Ridge, Washington, to support negotiations at the Rustings Lumber Mill, Lydia thinks she's in for a simple assignment.

What she's not expecting is Frank Hannigan, the mill's union rep, who is cynical of Lydia and her big city ways.
