Katie (23) is dreaming of a better life for herself. She's a single shy girl, embarrassed about her appearance and lacking confidence. She has no family and, following the death of her grandmother, and has to move away from her home town. Late for an interview, her last hope for work in the area throws her mind and emotions into turmoil.

She attends a mediumship service at the local church with her friend, despite not being interested. Katie is amazed at the service. Although the room is full of people, she feels like the speaker is talking to her. Compelled to find out more, maybe Katie can find out what the butterflies are trying to tell her, she begins attending a circle to help her heal her past.
