Keepers of the Tallath

It has been over seven years since the passing of Darren Blake's grandfather, but a call from the executor of his will after Darren's twenty fifth birthday produces one final keepsake from Grandpa Donald. The box given to Darren looks plain enough, but leaves him with one burning question: what is inside?

Once the contents of the box are revealed Darren is left with more questions. What does the mysterious metallic cube in the box do? Why must it be kept safe? And most of all, why did his grandpa leave it to him?
