DI Mike Malone and his friend and colleague, DS Alan Shepherd, initially think that they have another one of their bizarre cases to solve. The local townsfolk are reporting that letters are being shaved into their cats' fur. However, when a particularly gruesome murder is discovered, Mike Malone realises that he must forget about the cats and concentrate on finding a killer. And on top of all this, he is to be best man for his friend. A DI's life is never dull.
