Four generations of peace and prosperity saw Dale develop from a ravaged city into its own nation built on trade. In their prosperity, the Kings of Dale and Erebor called upon their best smiths to replicate jewels from the last dragon hoard. This Kings' Gift was for their ally, Thranduil Elvenking. Yet both jewels and jewel smith disappeared while delivering the Gift to the Elvenking. The sense of peace evaporated when it was discovered that deception had led to their loss, deception based on knowledge that only the Royal Courts of Dale and Erebor could have known. Drawn together by family and friendship, five women of Dale and The Greenwood take on a task failed by many: to find their missing brothers. Their search takes them in unlikely directions and forces them to discover and face threats unheard of for generations.
