Barbary Willis, one of Los Alamos, New Mexico's elite enjoys life on her own terms. A visit with her grandfather has her enchanted by his Western North Carolina memories, and the fondness he holds for a mountain attraction. She decides to take a trip to Asheville and tour Bellmore Gardens. What she discovers challenges everything she believes.

Trace Youngbird accepts that not everyone appreciates his native roots. He's learned that having a relationship with Jesus and patience are the key to happiness. He's content utilizing his horticulture degree at the gardens but meeting Barbary tests his easygoing attitude.
