The Twilight series became a worldwide phenomenon, but with this new book, it’s clear we’ve never known the whole story. Sure, we followed along as Bella Swan fell in love with the immortal Edward Cullen and eventually became immersed in his entire vampire clan, but Midnight Sun is the first time we’ve learned Edward’s side of the story. Diving into their romance from the ancient teen’s perspective, we started to understand everything Edward went through as he constantly resists his violent vampire urges in the name of love. But we were even more fascinated by the deep insights into Edward’s inner life, as his hidden feelings, secret past and deepest family bonds all come to light. I loved every aspect of this book and I was reading it everywhere I went, even in the toilet! That’s how hooked I was!!!
I’d have loved it 10 years ago
When I read the twilight saga I was in high school, and I was as absorbed as every other girl in my class. I remember reading the leaked chapters and wishing Stephanie would finish the book. Now, I’m 27 and eagerly purchased the book I felt I’d forgotten I was even waiting for. Honestly, it was a little tedious, but I think that is only because I’m older now. If I’d read it 10 years ago I probably would’ve enjoyed it. If you are reading it for nostalgia, tread carefully. If you have newly discovered the twilight series and are reading this in succession with them, I’m sure it will delight!
