New Geography

Year 6

This Geography text book is designed for Year 6 students in the Junior School. It complies with the requirements of the new National Curriculum emphasizing the two main strands (Knowledge and Understanding; Inquiry and Skills) and addressing the cross curriculum priorities.


The book largely focuses on Asia and connections with Australia, and offers a range of geographical suggestions and range of interesting learning experiences. There is a fieldwork component focusing on our connections with Asia through migratory birds that use the international flyways of the western Pacific and east Asia. Many of the suggestions and questions posed are inquiry or research based, requiring students to engage in collaborative learning and investigation. It is interactive for students but requires teacher guidance and support.
