The first-person narrative toggles between the two women, who discuss their marriage, careers ("After months of uploading videos we discovered it was possible to earn money from YouTube"), and struggles with anxiety and depression. The most touching part of the book occurs when Rose shares her debilitating experiences with OCD, and the two suicide attempts that resulted from it. Dedicating their book to "every LGBT character who deserved better," the pair describes obstacles they've faced as a same-sex couple (they are sometimes asked, "Aren't you too pretty to be gay?"). Dix and Spaughton accomplish their lofty goal of educating, consoling, and entertaining, and do so in a fluid narrative.
