P.A.R.T.S

Rowena Harris

Publisher Description

P.A.R.T.S is both an exhibition that took place at Coleman Project space between the 25th of October and the 17th of November 2013 (part 1) and simultaneously this ebook (part 2), and as such they are intended as two coexisting parts of the same body of work - one tangible and one digital.

As the title P.A.R.T.S suggests Harris often creates each work (or a body of work) as a collection of individual elements - commonly one part in a sculptural form and another in a digital form. She intends each to have an independent life within a co-relation.

The solo exhibition at Coleman projects provides the opportunity to give structure to a new body of work created in these various different parts, the main being the two equally important and key structural parts to the show

– a tangible exhibition and an Ebook.

The tangible exhibition brings together new sculptural work, formed through a carefully chosen collection of material - steel, perpsex, cement, felt… and an insistence on “felt material gestures”. Created in conjunction with the sculptural work, and displayed alongside, is a new video installation. The co-relating Ebook is part artwork in its own right, part alternative artist publication and, importantly, provides a platform for Harris to disseminate and expand content relating to the tangible show as a digital, ebook-experience of the exhibition.
