Publisher Description
Mankind is winning its struggle to survive. After centuries of fighting the battles are finally on the enemy’s turf, not theirs. It is the enemy that is retreating and losing worlds, not Man. Yet, success is a two-edged sword. Things have begun to go so well that many, including Mankind's politicians, are questioning why the sacrifices must continue. If Humanity is truly winning, why do they need more ships, more warriors and more powerful weapons. Some are even calling for peace!
To counter this blasphemy, Humanity's military does what it always has. It invents a more powerful weapon. Surely once they end the war, destroying their enemy completely, a grateful Mankind will return their pivotal role in guiding the future.
Never mind it has never worked before, that each increase in Man’s weaponry has resulted in a corresponding response from their long time enemy, leading to billions more deaths. Never mind that this weapon is different, working at a level of unprecedented power, disrupting the bonds of time itself. What could possibly go wrong?
