“The Young Elites” by Marie Lu was first published on 7th of October, in 2014. It is a fantasy novel, the first in a planned trilogy.

The story is set in an alternate world that seems to be somewhat similar to medieval European. Adelina Amouteru is the anti-hero protagonist of the novel.

The author admits in the acknowledgments section of the book that Adelina’s story is not the story of a hero; it is the story of a villain.
