Howard Roger Garis (1873-1962) was an American writer who gained recognition as the author of Uncle Wiggily stories. These are the stories for kids featuring a rabbit as the main character. Garis wrote one Wiggily story a day and during his literary career he wrote about 15 000 stories in this series. He also contributed to the Stratemeyer's Syndicate writing mystery stories for kids under various pen-names.
