Romola

First published between 1862 to 1863, the present fictinal novel 'Romola' was written by one of the foremost novelists and social critic of the Victorian era George Eliot. It is a historical novel, which is set in the fifteenth century, and is "a deep study of life in the city of Florence from an intellectual, artistic, religious, and social point of view."
