Sadie's Zipper Ebook

Sadie’s Zipper is a story of a little girl, Sadie, who was born with a heart defect. Sadie is the narrator of this book and talks to the reader to inform them why she has a scar on her chest. A scar that she calls a zipper. Sadie is very open to answering questions about herself and addresses the question about her feeding tube and what the sticker is on her cheek. The book is directed toward all children, however it is specifically directed at children who get stared at and get asked questions regarding their medical devices. Sadie addresses others who have scars and others who have similar medical devices and how normal it is and isn’t forever. The book helps address these issues that may be uncomfortable to discuss.
