Solace

Solace is a "gumbo;" a mix of urban fiction, poetry, erotica, and socially conscious literature. With the back-drop of the Bronx and Washington Heights, Solace is about six young people who think that they know each other casually until a series of explosive events happen, causing them to realize that their lives are actually entwined with one another. Solace's characters confront issues such as racism, inter-ethnic conflict, crime, homophobia and abuse-issues that affect many young people, regardless of where they come from. Solace is a thought-provoking and transformative story that is likely to yield discussions about race, gender, sexuality, and culture. Solace is a survivor's book that appeals to many people who have flourished in spite of hardship.
