APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
The creator of the award-winning TV series Prime Suspect takes us back in time to Detective Chief Inspector Jane Tennison’s early days with the Metropolitan Police. Lynda La Plante’s fourth Prime Suspect novel is set in 1973, when Tennison completes her rigorous training only to encounter a hostile work environment with limited career opportunities and outright bullying. We loved bearing witness to the people and events who helped shape this admirable policewoman—famously played by Helen Mirren—and cheering her on as she works her first murder case. Tennison is both a gripping thriller and a triumphant story about a woman overcoming great adversity.
