Publisher Description
PANCHATANTRA TALES - THE GREEDY MOTHER-IN-LAW
Panchatantra tales that counsel and caution
The Panchatantra from 3rd Century BC, written by Vishnu Sharma, contains one of the most popular of the Indian stories. There are several versions of it. One of them, by Vasubhaga Bhatta, is lost but is fortunately available in Kannada - the Karnataka 'Panchatantram' by Durga-simha (12th C).
It contains over twenty tales not found in Vishnu Sharma's Panchatantra. This Amar Chitra Katha is based on stories from Durgasimha's Panchatantra.
