APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
If, like us, you were a fan of Lucy Foley’s first whodunnit, The Hunting Party—a keep-you-guessing tale of murder at a New Year’s Eve party—you’re bound to love this. This time, it’s a glitzy wedding on a remote Irish island that provides the scene for an unexplained death. Foley uses multiple characters’ viewpoints to spin a clever mystery, which gets more and more intriguing as the drinks flow, secrets are spilled and the narrators become increasingly unreliable. In a story that examines entitlement and bullying, plenty of the twists arrive via short, sharp chapters—you’ll find yourself staying up all night to reach the end.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Set on a remote island off the Irish coast where a massacre once occurred, this entertaining if uneven mystery from Foley (The Hunting Party) opens just after the high-profile wedding of Will Slater, the star of the reality TV show Survive the Night, and Julia Keegan, an online magazine editor. During the reception, the lights go out, prompting a "scream of terror," which turns out to have come from a server, who reports having seen a lot of blood. Flashbacks from various perspectives, including the bride and her sister, the maid of honor, recount what preceded the server's grim discovery a body. Meanwhile, Julia is on edge after having received an anonymous note warning her not to marry Will, because he's not who he seems. Foley defers disclosing the murder victim's identity until quite late, but she undercuts the suspense with obvious indications of who it is. The tension of the setup isn't quite matched by the reveals, though the nicely creepy setting compensates somewhat. Readers seeking thrills will find plenty.

The Guest List
I found this a very gripping & compelling story. A good look into human nature and character with some very unexpected twists!
The Guest List - Lucy Foley
After reading 'The Hunting Party', I was sceptical whether or not Foley could repeat what I found to be an outstanding, entertaining read. After devouring 'The Guest List' in under two days, I can happily say she has more than done this.
Packed with twists, complex characters and an engaging plot bolstered by a wonderful setting, the Guest List is comfortably the equal of its predecessor. As the story evolved I found myself trying to unpick the many threads woven through the character perspectives to see if I could solve the mystery of who did it and who the victim was.
'The Guest List' will definitely not disappoint!
