The Key to IELTS Writing

This book will help candidates stuck at band 6 or 6.5 in IELTS writing to finally reach band 7 or above. In the first 9 lessons you will learn the skills needed to write essays at bands 7 and above, and how to fix common problems. Lessons 10 to 20 focus on test practice. You will be guided through the essay writing process step-by-step from getting ideas and planning (using my new planning tool), to writing, and checking, and there are 16 model answers. The listening recordings make learning more interesting and also build your language and accuracy. In the final lesson, you will find 6 new practice tests for timed practice. I have also included samples of bands 6 and 6.5 writing that candidates have sent to me over the years. I will help you identify the main problems at this level, show you how to address them, and how to increase the band score from 6.5 to band 8.
