Publisher Description

Munro, Hector Hugh better known by the pen name Saki, was a British writer, whose witty, whimsical, often cynical and sometimes macabre stories satirised Edwardian society and culture. They are collected in Reginald (1904) and other volumes. He is considered a master of the short story and is often compared to O. Henry and Dorothy Parker. His tales feature delicately drawn characters and finely judged narratives.

Besides his short stories, he wrote a full-length play; two one-act plays; a historical study… Munro was killed in France in World War I.

This is one of Saki's lighter and more purely humorous stories.  It concerns a fussy and socially awkward man named Theodoric Voler and the difficulties he has when he is on a train and finds that there is a mouse climbing up the leg of his pants.
