The Oracle

A short story—

Previously published in Savage Planets Magazine, October 2023 edition.

They were abandoned by their crew. Hunted by the Alliance. Alone in a dead system… until they found the Oracle.

What begins as a desperate escape from a botched raid turns into a journey neither Devon nor Persephone could have imagined. Pursued by military patrols and stranded far from any hope of rescue, they seek refuge on a desolate world—one no map claims, and no scanner should detect life upon.

But something ancient waits in the silence.

A bubble of living earth. A mysterious obelisk. And a voice that speaks across eons.

Now, with enemies closing in, the lovers must choose: surrender to the life they've known, or step through a door to the unknown—a second chance at paradise, or a final trap.

Blending gritty space opera with spiritual science fiction, The Oracle is a tale of survival, transformation, and the mysterious forces guiding destiny among the stars.
