Seminal Work
This must arguably, along with the like titled work of John Keegan, be one of the finest critiques of this apocalyptic event unique in human history.
The level of detail and research is hard to fathom for the reader who is transported into a different realm attempting to digest the dizzying statistics and dichotomous nature of the human being.
I particularly found Beevor’s analysis of the key players, both political and military to be fascinating reading.
An essential read for both the military and civilian student alike.
