Dentist offices are the perfect hunting grounds. Patients walk in trusting me, unaware of what lurks beneath my kind smile and sterile gloves. They leave, blissfully unaware of the agony they endured—their Minds wiped clean—silent, obedient, waiting for my call. Business is booming.

Then comes Tyler Blackbird. A boy wearing a necklace of ancient power, tied to the old ways. The moment I reach for him, it burns me. He sees me—sees what I truly am.
