Publisher Description

There's a small park in the middle of the busy city. People walk past it every day on their way to school or work. Some stop to eat their lunch under its shady trees. Others come to walk their dogs or read on the benches. To most, it's just another patch of green in a world of tall buildings and noisy cars.

But not to Darius and Andien. For them, the park is different. It has always felt alive. They've spent hours playing hide-and-seek among its ancient trees, watching squirrels dart through the grass, and listening to birds sing songs that seem just a little too clever. Darius always says the trees are whispering secrets if you listen close enough. Andien laughs and says that's just his wild imagination. But still… sometimes, she wonders.

One summer evening, as the sky turned orange and the last of the sun dipped behind the buildings, they stayed a little longer than usual. The park grew quiet. The air seemed to hum. And then The statues moved.

It was just a flicker at first. The stone lion stretched his paws and yawned. The old fountain bubbled in a language neither of them had heard before. The lamp posts flickered to life—and began talking to each other in soft, musical voices.

Darius grinned.
Andien's eyes widened.

They had just uncovered a secret world, hidden in plain sight. At night, the city park came alive.

But the wonder didn't last long. The next day, they overheard adults talking about machines coming to clear the park. The city wanted to build something "new" and "better." Giant machines, cold and unfeeling, were already on their way. The magical world they had just discovered was in danger. And it couldn't speak for itself. It needed someone brave, someone kind, someone who could listen to the whispers of the park.

And so, Darius and Andien made a promise. They would protect this place. Even if no one believed them. Even if it was dangerous. Because when you discover something magical, something truly special… you fight for it.

And they weren't alone.
