Cut off by the elements in a somewhat brutal twist on the locked-room mystery format, the pair know the killer is still lurking among the guests of the mountain lodge in which they’re staying. Slaughter applies her trademark talent for nail-biting reads in this close-quarters tale of deceit. Well-observed romantic banter between the newlyweds will appeal to fans who have followed Will and Sarah’s story since the beginning, while aficionados of no-holds-barred thrillers will enjoy how Slaughter vividly paints the characters (other than the crime-solving couple) as at once complex and unlikeable. This intense read is not for the faint of heart.

Interesting and suspenseful
Thought I was reading an Agatha Christie whodunnit at first, but then the Slaughter twists and turns and graphic components were introduced. Couldn’t put it down!
